Version 2020.380/385 Released - Report Runner Batch, Viewer, and Documentor

Batch:

  1. NEW: We are SUPER excited to announce a new batch analysis feature in the Tools menu called Discover; Discover automatically searches all of your batch XML files and settings stored in your "My Batches" folder and sub-folders, creating a searchable file database to look for reports, export types and formats, destination settings like email addresses, parameter values, INI settings, mail header and footer settings, etc. Almost anything you would want to search is available to lookup. And if you see a batch that you want to edit, just double-click it, and it will be opened for editing in Report Runner Batch. There's also some really quick stats listed in the interface, too.
  2. NEW: Debug menu now has option to show you last five (5) log files. It can also show you last five (5) log files for a specific batch, too. Additionally, the debug menu now has options to open the current month's Batch XREF file and an option to open the Jeff-Net data folder.
  3. UPDATED: Analyze / Find in the Tools menu renamed to Find / Replace to better indicate what it does. Prior to the new Discover feature, this was the best way to "analyze" your batches. Note, we also updated this interface where if you double-click on an XML file that shows up based on your find criteria, it will open the XML file in Report Runner Batch for editing. We also did some tuning to the Find / Replace interface to speed it up (by ignoring certain file types you wouldn't need to edit/change).
  4. UPDATED: The automatic cleanup routine for temp files now deletes files older than 2 days now (previously it was 3 days).
  5. UPDATED: Numerous new log file messages added/updated, including some related to temp file analysis.
  6. UPDATED: The full installer now HIDES log file passwords by default.
Viewer:

  4. UPDATED: The full installer now HIDES log file passwords by default.
Documentor:

  1. NEW: "On Demand" sub-reports are now tagged/noted in the Comments field
  2. NEW: For reports with extremely long file RPT file names (which are too long to be copied to our temp file directory), we now have an INI setting to open them from their existing location by using OpenSourceRPTDirectly=1 in the [Options] group. This option is ONLY recommended if you are having problems documenting your reports due to the size of the file name. Most users should not need/use this option.

This is not a critical release, but is highly recommended due to the new features. It is critical if you're not on at least version 2020.360.

As always, to update, you only need to run the Updater (just once), to update your software (no matter the current version you are on).
